Gartner predicts that 85% of organizations will adopt a cloud first strategy by 2025.
Modern organizations are built on an increasingly complex operating environments often involving an expanding cloud footprint, multiple cloud service providers, and traditional on-prem solutions. This has left organizations with diverse technologies each with different strategies towards applying least privilege, segmentation, monitoring and other key components of Zero Trust.
Challenges in applying zero trust principles in these environments include the rapid proliferation of various human and non-human identities, lack of interoperability between cloud providers, and incompatibility between on-prem and cloud tools. Any organization embarking on a Zero Trust initiative needs to develop a cost effective, risk-based approach to guide them through these challenges.
